Publishing Country-Specific Analyses on Measuring Quality and Labour Market Results in Education
The document offers a brief overview of the indicators used for measuring quality and other results in education, e.g. the test scores, labor market and other results and characteristics of particular schools and/or their pupils and students in Visegrad 4 countries and Ukraine. Further, it includes information on how the results impact the financing of particular schools; offers an overview of tools informing the public about the results with major focus on published school reports and rankings; and lists some of key lessons learned in measuring the quality in education as well as some of key challenges in this respect discussed in the country.

PPP obchvat Bratislavy môže byť predražený až o miliardu eur
Rozhodnutie vlády SR obstarať diaľnicu D4 a rýchlostnú cestu R7 pri Bratislave ako PPP projekt vychádzalo zo zmanipulovaných podkladov. Ministerstvo dopravy si najprv obstaralo poradcu s konfliktom záujmov a potom spolu s ním skreslilo vstupné údaje do kľúčového testu výhodnosti. Oficiálne prezentovanú hodnotu za peniaze preferovaného PPP projektu „vylepšili“ o vyše 800 miliónov eur. Vyplýva to z analýzy, ktorú dnes zverejnil inštitút INEKO.

Aj napriek pomoci štátu má naďalej najvyšší dlh Žilina
Žilina je aj naďalej najzadlženejším mestom spomedzi 50 najväčších miest na Slovensku. Podarilo sa jej síce medziročne znížiť dlh z 77,1 % na 59,7 % bežných príjmov (a vďaka tomu začať spĺňať zákonné kritérium týkajúce sa zadlženosti), no za toto zlepšenie mesto do veľkej miery vďačí kontroverznému odpusteniu časti dlhu, ktoré Žiline schválila Vláda SR. Druhým najzadlženejším mestom bola ku koncu roka 2014 Čadca (48,3 %), na treťom mieste je Púchov (48,1 %). Všetky ostatné veľké mestá mali dlh menší ako 40 % svojich ročných príjmov.

Better education is one of hidden triggers of economic growth. Better educated people are more productive, create more jobs for others and make the country more prosperous. To get higher value for money in education we need to know more about the results of particular schools. This includes results in national testing, measuring “value added”, admission to higher levels of education, but also labour market results such as the unemployment rates and salaries of graduates. To exchange best practices of V4 countries and Ukraine in measuring results in education INEKO organized a webinar taking place on October 2nd.
